Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail

Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail is the next generation of voice messaging for Norstar. Like StarTalk, Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail is specifically designed for Norstar and takes advantage of the Norstar architecture. But Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail runs on the Norstar-PLUS Applications Module and is fully expandable: 2-8 channels; 12-49 hours, all in one chassis. Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail provides enhanced automated attendant and voice messaging features, adds CLID features, and continues to build on the integration with Norstar.

From an applications point of view, StarTalk provides voice mail and automated attendant capabilities only. Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail runs on the Applications Module, a single platform capable of running both voice processing and other Norstar ACCESS based OS/2 telephony software applications. To highlight this capability, the Dial-by-Name Application is bundled with Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail.

Norstar-PLUS Applications Module Architecture

The Norstar-PLUS Applications Module is the base hardware for all Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail models. It includes the hard disk drive for the operating system and customer programming information, a second hard disk drive bay for additional applications and growth, memory, and a floppy disk for loading software and data onto the hard disk drive.

The Norstar-PLUS Applications module consists of a wall mounted unit which looks like a Norstar-PLUS Modular ICS. When installed and mounted next to the ICS, the ICS and Norstar-PLUS Applications Module form a single coherent system.

The Norstar-PLUS Applications Module is designed to run Norstar ACCESS-based OS/2 Applications in conjunction with Norstar-PLUS Voice Mail.
